Bibalibet's Best Worst Day- Out Soon!
I have always been fascinated with the art of storytelling. This passion is something that ignited in me from a very young age. My father was born in a rural part of Zimbabwe (Southern Africa), and as is customary in those parts, people were encouraged to share stories through word of mouth, this served two main purposes. Firstly the elders of the villages wanted to educate the younger generations about history and morality, and secondly, stories were used as a form of entertainment. I have fond memories of holidaying in Zimbabwe as a child, sitting by an evening campfire and listening intently to the dramatic retelling of fascinating and inspiring stories. We did not have a television and these evenings were the most exciting part of the day for me.
Mental health
I am a Meditation teacher and champion for positive mental health practices, particularly among younger children. I have worked with a lot of vulnerable children over the years who have struggled to process and express their emotions. I have helped them to develop the tools they need to overcome challenges. My newsletters contain a mental health section which focuses on promoting positive mental health.
Food
Who doesn’t love soul food? I regularly blog about my latest kitchen creations. I am not a classically trained chef by any stretch of the imagination, but much like me, my mum is a foodie. Growing up as a child with six siblings, I was in awe of how my mother managed to find the time to create amazing dishes for such a large family. I spent a lot of time studying her methods and recreating them, with a twist of my own. I love reading your comments and suggestions on what you would like me to try to create in the kitchen next.
