Bibalibet's Best Worst Day- Out Soon!
Bibalibet's Best Worst Day- Out Soon!
I hold talks and workshops in schools around the UK with fantastic feedback from pupils, parents and staff.
I am currently taking bookings for this academic year 2022 - 2023.
Please note:
Dates for October (Black History Month) are in high demand and therefore are limited. Book early to secure your preferred date.
Author visits to schools are a great way to support the development of literacy skills. They help to encourage reading for pleasure, inspire reluctant readers to engage with texts and motivate pupils to develop their writing. School visits provide pupils with an opportunity to connect with a published author and ask questions.
Being a part-time SENDCO and experienced Senior Leader, I ensure that all of my workshops and reading sessions are linked to age-related outcomes for each year group and are complementary to EYFS and National Curriculum programmes of study.
Currently, there are three different sessions available to schools. The sessions are linked to published books.
● EYFS Circle Time session focuses on the text ‘The Bibalibet' series and is designed to encourage pupils to talk about ways we can deal with different emotions (20 minutes)
● KS1 Shared Reading session uses ‘The Bibalibet Goes to Bed’ as a basis for developing a greater awareness of different emotions and includes a mindfulness activity (30 minutes)
● KS2 Workshop consists of shared reading activities to encourage pupils to infer characters’ emotions and justify reasoning as well as predict outcomes (45 minutes). The session also includes a meditation exercise.
Author Fee
A daily rate of £350 is charged as a flat fee. Schools have the flexibility to select which sessions (outlined above) they would like to include. This is to be discussed during the booking phase.
Half-day (afternoon) visits are available and are charged at £200 per ½ day purchased. This typically consists of two phase group assemblies.
Schools will have the option to purchase additional books at a discounted rate of £5 per book.
Schools will be invoiced after the event. Please ensure that payment is processed within 7 days of the event.
Bookselling
On the day of the visit, I will bring books to school for an after school book sale. I will be available to sign copies for parents to purchase.
Photography
Staff and parents are permitted to take photographs during the event.
